ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
IN MATERIALS SCIENCE
My research interests lie in the understanding of stress development due to water migration within lingo-cellulose porous materials such as wood. Real-time stress measurement technique and micro-mechanical model has been developed for the understanding of the underpinning mechanisms. I am, particularly, interested in the relation between viscoelastic and mechano-sorptive creep behaviors and collapse due to capillary pressure. The knowledge gained can be applied in wood industries to reduce cost and defects.

My research interests are in blend of Polyethylene oxide (PEO) and Epoxidized Natural rubber (ENR) since both polymers have flexible chains that can carry ions. Electrolytes are very important in energy storage material. In addition, we also focus on various kinds of adhesives. In the future, we would see more polymer electrolytes having good adhesive property.
