ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

IN MATERIALS SCIENCE

My research interests lie in the understanding of stress development due to water migration within lingo-cellulose porous materials such as wood. Real-time stress measurement technique and micro-mechanical model has been developed for the understanding of the underpinning mechanisms. I am, particularly, interested in the relation between viscoelastic and mechano-sorptive creep behaviors and collapse due to capillary pressure. The knowledge gained can be applied in wood industries to reduce cost and defects.
