Engineering Students Explore Advanced X-ray Diffractometer at FunTech, Walailak University

On September 4, 2025, third-year students from the Petrochemistry and Polymer Program, School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University, had the opportunity to learn about advanced crystal structure analysis during a special academic service activity at the Center of Excellence in Functional Materials and Nanotechnology (FuNTech).

The visit was coordinated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Wanchart Prichartwong, faculty member of the School of Engineering and Technology, who led the students to observe a demonstration of the X-ray diffractometer. The session was kindly supported by FunTech, upon request from the School of Engineering and Technology, as part of its role in providing academic services to the wider university community.

The demonstration was conducted by Asst. Prof. Dr. Theanchai Wiwasuku, faculty member at FunTech, who introduced students to the principles and applications of X-ray diffraction in determining crystal structures, molecular arrangements, and material properties. By engaging with this high-end research instrument, students gained valuable exposure that can enhance their studies and future careers in science and engineering.

This collaboration highlights FunTech’s commitment to knowledge sharing and the university’s mission to foster practical learning experiences through academic services, bridging advanced research facilities with undergraduate education.
